EarthWorks Helps Camden Highland Village Create Function for Residents

Quickly becoming one of Houston’s premier luxury apartment communities, Camden Highland Village Uptown offers residents three unique living experiences close to excellent shopping and nightlife along with several attractive amenities, such as hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances. EarthWorks’ Houston Market Vice President Shaun Callaway said some of the apartment community’s main issues included maintenance access, replacement costs, and overall aesthetics.

“It was difficult for the maintenance crews to access the private backyards because they are all interconnecting,” he said. “Also, the shade wouldn’t let the grass survive, and they continually had to resod the yards that were always muddy, especially for residents with pets.”

EarthWorks and Camden Highland Village collaborated to find a solution for residents so they could enjoy their backyards year round. The team partnered with subcontractors to discuss all of the available options to help reduce costs and deliver a project Camden Highland management could proudly offer as an amenity to potential residents. Weeks of research and planning helped EarthWorks find the best materials to use to correct the landscaping issues for a safe and functional environment.

Using the proper subcontractors and coordinating effectively allowed the EarthWorks team to execute the design according to plan and complete the backyard renovations on time and on budget. Callaway said, “in the end, property management was happy, the residents were happy, and things were easier on our weekly maintenance crews.”

Camden Highland Village’s management team was so satisfied with the upgrades they decided to convert all of the private backyards to match the newly renovated ones. Additionally, they are starting the process of implementing the same ideas and visual changes to corresponding properties, helping to create cohesion across the board.
