A Message From Our President – Chris Lee

Note to Self – Stop.

As the great 20th-century philosopher Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

While I hope everyone reading this can gain some perspective, I’m mostly writing this to myself. I struggle mightily at times when it comes to living in the moment or stopping to smell the roses. I spend most of my time thinking about everything I need to accomplish and all the boxes that need to be checked so that one day I can stop and “look around.” 

The reality is that no matter how meticulously you plan or how structured you are, tomorrow is never promised. I got a first-hand reminder recently when I attended a funeral for someone who planned every step of life and built an incredible business and family so that he could one day enjoy it. He reached his “finish line” only to succumb to cancer a few months later. I don’t want that to be me, nor do I want it to be you.

Please stop and look around every chance you get!
