A Message From Our President – Chris Lee
It’s time for some perspective.
Life is hard for a lot of people these days. We don’t live in very certain times, a lot is changing, inflation is out of control, and people are far too often angry and divided. Society constantly tells us to look at what we don’t have and rail against the world and those we think “do have.”
Maybe instead, we should be putting our lives in true perspective and appreciating the many blessings we ALL have.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that everyone reading this has a place to live, 15% of the world doesn’t.
I’m going to assume that most or all of you know where your next meal is coming from, 20% of the world doesn’t.
I’m going to assume that all of you have access to safe drinking water, 33% of the world doesn’t.
Add in sanitation and gainful employment, and these things alone mean that you’re doing better than about 80% of the world. Let that sink in…if you have access to food, safe water, shelter, and above poverty-level wages, you have more than 80% of the world.
At times, it seems that the world is incredibly unfair, and we just can’t keep up, but that’s a false narrative. We are all very blessed and must look at the whole picture from time to time to gain real perspective. It helps me when I’m down, maybe it can help you too!
