Shining a Spotlight on Our Team: Martin Pantoja
Meet Martin Pantoja, our employee spotlight of the month. Martin has been an integral part of the EarthWorks family since 2015. As an Irrigation Supervisor, Martin leverages his wealth of experience to optimize irrigation systems and develop pioneering strategies that nurture landscapes while conserving water.
Martin’s role involves training and overseeing Foremen from the Irving and Garland offices. With all the innovations emerging in the irrigation industry, he makes it a personal mission to stay at the forefront of industry advancements. “I enjoy learning about emerging technologies and innovative strategies for efficient irrigation practices in the field.”
Born in Mexico and raised in Roseville, California, Martin’s journey toward becoming an irrigation expert began after graduating from Roseville California High School in 1998. He furthered his education at Sierra College in Rocklin, and his love for mechanics led him to major in Automotive Technology in 2006.
While working at a local golf course in Sun City, Roseville, he first delved into the world of irrigation. Driven by a genuine passion for the craft, he swiftly expanded his knowledge and experience in the industry, emerging as an authority in his field and an inspiration for his peers.
Through his time in EarthWorks, Martin has garnered the admiration and affection of his colleagues. “Martin represents the very best of EarthWorks. He embodies the spirit that we try to instill in all employees. He’s incredibly hard-working, always helpful, and you never hear a word from him unless it’s a positive thought or a way to improve our operations.” says Chris Lee, President of EarthWorks.
Victor Sargsyan (Irrigation/chemical Manager) is Martin’s direct supervisor and had these kind words to say “He is very knowledgeable/smart and is willing to learn. He is also polite, humble, and hardworking. I am very happy to have him in our team.”
Todd Sankey, General Manager at the Irving location, adds, “Martin is respected by both his peers and subordinates. Always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He is hands down the very best colleague I have had throughout my professional career.” The strong praises received from his colleagues and peers serve as a testament to his talent, professionalism, and unmatched dedication to his work.
When he’s not in the irrigation trenches, Martin cherishes his role as a devoted family man. Since 2002, he has been married to his loving wife, and together, they have raised two incredible children – his first-born daughter is 18, with whom they just celebrated her high school graduation, and his son is 14.
Martin’s love for teaching others and thirst for knowledge are two defining characteristics that truly set him apart. He finds immense joy in sharing his expertise with his fellow colleagues and clients. Similarly, he embraces every opportunity to learn from those around him, recognizing the tremendous value of diverse perspectives and experiences. During his spare time, Martin enjoys fishing, a cherished hobby that allows him to reconnect with nature.
In keeping with tradition, we asked about his favorite flower, to which he replied,” Daylilies because they bloom year after year.” EarthWorks is genuinely grateful to have Martin as a valuable team member. His selfless dedication and commitment to ensuring client satisfaction are truly commendable.
With Martin’s invaluable expertise gracing our team, our clients can always expect well-irrigated landscapes that thrive with vitality and efficiency.
