Shining A Spotlight On Our Team Members: Daviana Cearley, Account Manager

This month we are shining the spotlight on Daviana Cearley. Daviana has been with EarthWorks for almost a year as an Account Manager, serving the Houston area. Daviana works closely with her clients to manage their landscaping and renovations. She has an eye for detail and makes value-added suggestions to her clients on what can be done to improve their overall curb appeal.
Daviana is a go-getter and loves that her job involves various tasks and doesn’t require her to sit at a desk all day. She considers herself a people person as she loves interacting with clients and seeing the beautiful landscapes that she had a hand in imagining. Although she is not new to the apartment community industry, she is relatively new to landscaping and is excited to bring a fresh perspective to the role. She is grateful for Shaun Callaway, VP of the Houston Market, who took the time to educate her about landscaping when she first started. She came to EarthWorks only knowing about flowers and what she liked, not necessarily what worked best for each property. She is very grateful for his patience and the knowledge he shared in her early days at EarthWorks. As a result, she now enjoys educating others (team members included) on what their properties need.
Originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela, Daviana and her family didn’t always have it easy. Her young sister was diagnosed with cancer, which prompted her family (mom, dad, two sisters, and her grandmother) to seek immigration to the US for improved medical care. Although faced with an emotional journey at home, Daviana thrived during her young years in the US, becoming a self-proclaimed “over-achiever” with a passion for writing and other forms of artistic expression. She took part in theatre arts and dance for 12 years of her childhood. Following high school, she put herself through college, where she met her husband, the father of her three precious children. Unfortunately, life had other plans for her, and they were divorced a decade later. But as they say, everything happens for a reason – she reconnected with her junior high school sweetheart almost 20 years after the fact, and the two are set to get married in February! She is thrilled to become the stepmother to his two beautiful children! She is also a proud fur mommy to her cat, Molly.
Daviana had humble beginnings, working in retail from a young age, where she grew her passion for coffee as a barista at Starbucks. Following college, she was recruited into the apartment community industry, where she worked her way from leasing agent to assistant manager to company trainer and then property manager. She left the industry briefly to do accounting for a real estate firm but realized how desperately she missed interacting with people on a daily basis. This is what led her to EarthWorks nearly a year ago, and we couldn’t be happier to have her as part of the EarthWorks family!
In the spirit of what we do here, we asked Daviana to tell us what her favorite plant, tree, or flower was, and she fondly recalled how much she loved the magnolia tree in her yard as a little girl. She spent her youth climbing the tree and admiring how the flowers looked when they bloomed, not to mention the gorgeous fragrance it gave off! When she is walking her dog, she is often reminded of home whenever she sees or smells a magnolia tree in her path.
We are so thrilled to have Daviana on our team. She is so passionate about people and beautifying their properties, and we can’t thank her enough for all that she brings to this role.
