Two Decades of Dedication

Todd’s journey with us began two decades ago, and since then, he has been an integral part of our team, serving as the General Manager of our Irving office. Leading what he proudly considers the best team at EarthWorks, Todd’s leadership has been instrumental in driving our success and maintaining our reputation for excellence.

A Passion for Mentorship

Todd’s distinction lies not only in his years of service but also in his sincere passion for guiding and fostering talent within our company. At this stage of his career, he takes great pleasure in mentoring his team, witnessing their growth surpass his own achievements. Todd’s dedication to empowering others speaks volumes about his character and leadership approach.

Family Roots and Influences

Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, he was the youngest of six siblings (three sisters and two brothers). His upbringing was influenced by his parents, who experienced the challenges of the Great Depression. His mother was employed in the Admissions Department at Colorado State University, while his father’s service in the Navy during World War II shaped Todd’s appreciation for sacrifice and service, significantly impacting his character and perspective on life.

From the Kitchen to the Outdoors

After leaving school in the 10th grade (a decision he deeply regrets) and starting his career in the restaurant business, Todd eventually transitioned into inside and outside sales before finding his calling in the landscaping industry. His diverse background, including stints as head chef and food and beverage director at prestigious establishments like the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO (renowned as the place where Stephen King penned The Shining), has equipped him with invaluable skills and experiences that he brings to his role.

Beyond the Office

Todd enjoys spending time with his family and two standard poodles outside of work. An avid fly fisherman, he enjoys fishing for trout in the mountain west and exploring various fishing spots across the Caribbean Sea and beyond. With a lifelong passion for cooking, Todd keeps his culinary skills sharp by whipping up delicious meals almost every day. He also has a desire to reignite his love for cycling, a hobby he hopes to pursue in the near future.

Appreciating the Significance of Plant Selection

When asked about his favorite plant or flower, Todd admits he doesn’t have a specific favorite, but he appreciates the importance of selecting the right plants for specific locations and purposes. He finds satisfaction in the intricacies of landscape design, acknowledging the numerous factors that influence it. Despite once rebelling against the rigidity of school rules, Todd now embraces the structure and guidelines inherent in landscaping, finding fulfillment in creating harmonious and well-designed outdoor spaces.

We reached out to Chris Lee, President of EarthWorks, for his thoughts on Todd, and here’s what he had to say: “What a journey it’s been. Todd and I have known each other for nearly 30 years. We’ve worked together in multiple industries and states. Convincing Todd to come down and join our fledgling team at EarthWorks years ago was one of the best, if not the best, things I ever did. Todd was precisely what we needed when he joined us and has been instrumental in our growth, not only in size but in professionalism. Todd, thank you, brother!!
